Terms & conditions
1. Booking & confirmation
A journey is confirmed once we receive a signed itinerary confirmation and the deposit stated on your proposal (typically 30% of the total). The balance is due 30 days before arrival unless agreed otherwise. Bookings made within 30 days of travel require full payment. Your contract is with Scareface Adventures, Arusha, Tanzania.
2. Prices & inclusions
Prices are quoted per person in USD unless stated otherwise, based on the accommodations and inclusions listed in your proposal. Tanzania park fees, VAT and levies occasionally change; quotes remain valid for 30 days from issue. Any change imposed by third parties after confirmation may be passed on transparently with documentation.
3. Cancellation by you
Cancellations must be received in writing. Deposits are refundable (less bank charges) if cancelled more than 60 days before arrival. Between 60 and 31 days, the deposit is retained. Within 30 days of arrival, cancellation charges may reach 100% as suppliers (lodges, flights, parks) apply their own terms. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation for any reason.
4. Changes by us
We plan meticulously, but Africa writes her own rules: weather, park closures or flight changes occasionally force adjustments. We will always substitute equivalent or superior arrangements and inform you immediately. Material changes allow you a full refund of monies paid if you prefer to cancel.
5. Travel documents & health
You are responsible for a valid passport (6+ months validity), appropriate visas, and required vaccinations (yellow fever where applicable). We provide a full pre-departure pack covering malaria prophylaxis guidance. Guests with medical conditions must inform us in advance so we can plan safely.
6. Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of booking — covering medical expenses, evacuation (Flying Doctors cover is included on safaris), trip interruption and personal liability. Kilimanjaro trekkers must hold a policy covering trekking to 6,000 metres.
7. Responsibility
Scareface Adventures operates with licensed vehicles, trained guides and vetted partners. While we take every reasonable care, travel in wild landscapes carries inherent risks; participants accept these as part of the adventure. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by Tanzanian law and international conventions governing the suppliers involved.
8. Complaints & compliments
If something is not right, tell your guide immediately — almost everything can be fixed on the spot. If not, write to [email protected] within 30 days of your return and we will respond formally within 14 days.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Last updated: September 2026.
